Description

The tour will begin with a description of the facade; our English-licensed tour guide will provide a lively introduction to the monument. Next, you will use the elevator to ascend the steepest part of the Cathedral’s stairs to reach the first terrace, saving 200 steps!

The rooftop is a system of inclined and accessible terraces with walkways and connecting staircases. This will allow you to reach and almost touch all the flying buttresses, crockets, pinnacles, and statues…

Walking through them, you will behold the breathtaking skyline of Milan, and your guide will point out all the buildings you can admire from the top (the dome of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the San Siro Stadium, the Martini Terrace, the new and modern neighborhoods of Milan, and much more), witnessing the ever-moving and evolving life of the city.

Important Information

Dress Code: On hot days, wear a hat to protect yourself from the sun.

The staircase leading to the highest terrace is particularly narrow and has smooth marble: wear comfortable shoes, preferably with rubber soles. It’s a walking tour. The rooftops are not accessible to people with disabilities. Baby strollers are not allowed on the rooftops.

There are no restroom facilities or cafes on the terraces, so please bring water with you. Food and drinks are not included.

Note:

-In the unlikely event of severe bad weather, the terrace may be closed for safety reasons: in this case, tickets will be refunded.

-The guided tour lasts for 1 hour, but customers can stay on the rooftops as long as they want until closing time.
